“Technology has made Transfer Easier.”
There would not be any debate if someone will state the above statement. Everyone will agree to the same. Technology has made Data transfer easier; Money transfer has become one click task , Pizza transfer needs a phone call only; Job transfer happens over mail and the household furniture do not need to be shifted in case of transfer to a different city; What it needs is a click and sell over Quikr.
My father was a bank employee before his retirement. Bank job has been a transferable one. In every three years he got transfered to a different city and we kept on moving with him to the new location. I remember how much pain he had to take in shifting all the household things from one city to another at the time of relocation. He had to pack all the furniture by himself; of-course I had some contribution in the whole task also. Then a truck had to be booked to carry all the packed households. Uploading all the packed items on to the truck was again a huge task. I, my sister and my mother used to travel by bus to the new place but Papa had to move by the same truck which carry our belongings, to guide them the exact new location. Then after reaching the new home, unloading of all the items and placing them in proper place was again a horrible job. During the transportation everytime some of our furniture got dameged also.
But today the scenario has been altogether changed. One year back my sister and brother-in-law shifted from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar. And they needed a small lorry to transfer their household furniture. I was astonished as I have seen they had a lot of furniture in their home. I asked my brother in law where are the other items when they reached Bhubaneswar. He told me I sold online. Nice, right! We will buy new items and I have collected the money to buy the new furniture by selling the old ones. I got the money by selling them as well as saved money by not shifting them from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar.
At that time it was very new to me listening about selling and buying used items online. I asked him how could you do that. And from where you found the people who were interested to buy your used items. He told me in Bangalore Quikr is the solution. He told me Quikr is an online portal where you can upload the clicked photos of your used items. And people were there who would like to buy those with reduced price. And I have done the same. Now my huge task of shifting has been reduced and I got the money also.
